In this project, we enhanced a grand period conservatory with state-of-the-art features that blend seamlessly into its timeless design. Discreetly installed speakers, a hidden TV, and automated blinds bring modern convenience while preserving the room's classic elegance. This installation beautifully unites heritage style with contemporary comfort.

Hidden Harmony

To create an immersive audio experience that complements the conservatory’s grandeur, we installed eight color-matched 'Artcoustic' sound bars on custom brackets around the space. These sound bars hang elegantly, projecting audio downwards to fill the room with balanced sound that feels natural and unobtrusive. For a rich, full bass, we integrated four twin-subwoofers cleverly disguised as marble blocks within the conservatory's stone columns. This unique design maintains the room's aesthetic, while delivering powerful sound that enhances any gathering. For added versatility, the system is connected to a DJ input located on the overlooking Juliet balcony, transforming the conservatory into an ideal space for entertaining. Whether it’s background music or a lively party atmosphere, this setup provides exceptional sound quality in a beautifully concealed design.

Hidden in Plain Sight

For a seamless fusion of art and technology, we concealed a high-definition TV and an 'Artcoustic' sound bar behind a custom Renaissance-style canvas and frame from 'Pictureframe TV'. This elegant design ensures the TV and sound system remain hidden, preserving the conservatory's period charm. With a simple touch, the artwork effortlessly slides away to reveal both the screen and integrated audio, offering a smooth transition from classic art to modern entertainment. This cosy corner, complete with the concealed sound bar and subwoofer, creates the perfect space for immersive TV viewing.

Perfect Light, Perfect Privacy

We outfitted the conservatory with a fully automated blind system, offering effortless control over light and privacy. With a simple touch, the blinds adjust to the perfect position, reducing glare and setting the ideal ambiance. This system integrates discreetly into the space, preserving the room’s historic charm while adding modern convenience. The conservatory features 'Silent Gliss' roller blinds, elegantly concealed within custom joinery at each window and door. Activated via the Control4 touch screen or Lutron switch, the blinds move in unison, offering both privacy and protection from harsh sunlight. Additionally, we’ve incorporated a safety feature: if a window or door is open when the blinds are triggered, an audible notification sounds, pausing the blinds and reminding you to close it. A seamless blend of practicality and innovation for the perfect living environment.

Illuminating Elegance

To complete the conservatory's refined ambiance, we've carefully integrated a series of Lutron lighting fixtures that subtly accentuate the space’s architectural features. These fixtures are strategically positioned to highlight the elegant pillars, with both upward and downward-facing lights working together to create a balanced, soft glow that enhances the room's timeless beauty. The lighting design not only illuminates the space with a gentle, serene atmosphere but also adds depth and dimension, drawing attention to the room's most stunning elements. This thoughtful lighting setup provides the perfect finishing touch, seamlessly blending functionality with sophistication and elevating the overall ambiance of the conservatory.

Seamless Control

To create a truly seamless experience, we’ve integrated a powerful Control4 system as the heart of the conservatory’s smart technology. This intuitive platform allows full control of lighting, blinds, sound, TV, and more, all from one central hub. Whether using a remote or mobile device, users can effortlessly adjust settings to match the mood or occasion.

In addition to the Control4 system, we've incorporated Lutron control panels throughout the room, providing easy, dedicated access to key functions. These elegant buttons allow you to control specific elements like lighting and blinds with a simple touch, adding an extra layer of convenience while maintaining the room’s sleek design. Together, @control4 and @lutronelectronics work in harmony to deliver a customised, luxurious experience that enhances both the functionality and elegance of the conservatory.
